Rockdale Music Performance Studio Rock Camp
Are you ready to rock? We are looking for student musicians who want to have some fun and learn great music. Rockdale Music campers will learn by making music with each other guided by an experienced “rocker” musician/teacher and then perform what they have learned live on stage in front of friends and family. Rock Camp helps student musicians to:

What we’ll be doing
- Bands will rehearse with sound equipment
- Campers, ages 10 to 16, will be grouped according to age, ability, and music preference
- Highlight at the end of camp will be a performance for family and friends
- Professional musicians/teachers in a friendly and creative curriculum-based environment
- Day consists of sessions in instrument lessons, rehearsals, and workshops
- Campers learn to express their ideas through music and lyric writing guided by the teachers.
- Campers will name their band then create and design a band logo
- Tuition includes a Rockdale t-shirt
Instruments
Electric and Acoustic Guitar
- Requirements: All guitarists must be able to play basic chords and/or have taken 6 month of lessons.
- Beginners will practice basic chords, strumming and rhythm patterns.
- Intermediate Players will learn more advanced chords, lead guitar techniques and scales, start to step into the spotlight as performers
- Advanced Players will become leaders of their bands as they learn advanced soloing techniques and advanced rhythm guitar skills.
Bass Guitar
- Requirements: All guitarists must be able to play basic chords and/or have taken 6 month of lessons.
- Beginner to advanced bass students learn dexterity exercises, scales and techniques that help them hear and produce the bass lines that hold together the rhythm.
Keyboard
- Requirements: Keyboard players must be able to play basic chords and/or have taken 6 month of lessons.
- From beginner to advanced, keyboardists learn how to improvise, solo in the rock music tradition as well as theory.
Drums/Percussion
- Requirements: Must be able to keep a steady beat and/or have take 6 months of lessons.
- Beginners will learn important rock beats, timing coordination and rhythm exercises
- Intermediate to advanced players will expand their abilities with more complicated beats and solo techniques and learn how to keep the band together through musical arrangements.
- Drum students of all levels also learn to use percussion instruments such as tambourines, world drums and maracas.
Singers
- Requirements: No requirements.
- Singers will learn music theory, sight-reading, pitch-control, proper breathing technique as well as working with a microphone. Audition preparation and different song styles will also be covered.

Hours
- Drop off from 8:45 to 9:00 am
- Camp runs from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm
- Friday performance at 3:00 for family and friends
- Bring a bag lunch, snacks will be provided
